The aim of the PSK Standards Association is to serve
process industry as well as connected commercial enterprises
of the branch by means of compiling standards that are
required for the investments and maintenance of industrial
mills and plants. PSK closely co-operates with the Finnish
Standards Association SFS, which is the channel for publishing
national SFS standards.
PSK has acted for about 40 years as a developing unit
of industrial technical matters for its members. Nearly all
leading Finnish enterprises operating in the field of process
industry are members of PSK. Their total turnover is about EUR
50 billion. The activities of PSK benefit the members in the
form of common operation principles in industrial investment
projects, as well as in the development of various operation
and maintenance methods for mills and plants.
The preparation of standards relies on work carried out
by voluntary teams. Annually there are over 20 active teams
offering the knowhow and experience of over two hundred
experts. The experts of the teams are selected from the
different fields of process industry, and they represent the
customer or the supplier, and the planner or the contractor.
The aim is to achieve objective solutions that are easily
acceptable to all parties concerned.
